This project features lush, low maintenance plantings that celebrate a lot with a unique shape. The building and landscape face and engage the newly improved street with pedestrian amenities and welcoming modern planting areas to brighten this corner of downtown. The design included new trees to cool and protect sturdy shrub and groundcover plantings with a variety of seasonal color. An efficient irrigation system ensures easy weeding and plant survival in the hot summer months, and winter irrigation to planters under generous canopies. Amended soils were used to reduce the need for fertilizers and herbicides, reducing maintenance costs and harm to the environment.
