Olmsted Park
Olmsted Park will soon provide opportunities for activities of all energy levels in this North Sedro-Woolley community. This 14-acre park will include a playground, basketball court, and volleyball court, and plaza near the park entrance and walking trails, open lawns, accessible fishing float, and picnic shelters further into the park. The park also includes restrooms, parking, and a caretaker’s cottage, developed in the style of the adjacent Northern State Hospital/Port of Skagit SWIFT Center buildings. Safety, visibility, and open recreation space are important design elements to this park and the surrounding community. The park development is overlaid by several wetlands and includes a new stormwater pond to handle the parking lot runoff. The pond will be vegetated with native plants, increasing biodoversity and habitat.
